It was at the age of seven that Elyane de Vendeuvre first admired a miniature 18th century writing desk in the home of an elderly aunt. Struck by her niece's fascination with this masterpiece, the old lady gave it to her as an eighteenth birthday present. This was the starting-point of the collection.
