The
drawing room

First admire the
superb original panelling with the four overdoors; the
chandelier is reflected in the mirrors. The 18th century
drawing room was a place for conversation, reading and
parlour-games.
The furniture includes several tables and chairs designed for
games (loto or "dolphin", brelan, backgammon, etc.) The
card-playing automatons complete the
picture.

Pet
dogs and cats were also admitted here, and four
remarkable dog-kennels are displayed. Note the
extraordinary Louis XV dog kennel of the 18th century in
rosewood marquetry trimmed with damask.
