The Tartar tent

The brother of Madame de Pompadour, the marquis of Marigny, had a tent in sheet metal in the garden of his château de Menars. Gustave the 3rd, king of Sweden, liked it very much. He had a copy done for his garden in Haga and it became a fashion. Paintings with free spaces for the heads allowed people to be drawn and today to be photographed.
